Lakhta Centre in St. Petersburg, Russia designed by Tony Kettle
The Lakhta Centre in St. Petersburg in Russia, was awarded a record breaking status during construction. The Guinness World Book of Records published in 2015 that the ‘Largest continuous concrete pour’ was achieved during the pouring of the foundations for the building.
The pour took place on the 1st of March 2015 and took just over 49 hours. It consisted of 19,624.0 M3 of concrete and was delivered to the construction site from 13 different production plants.
Tony Kettle, Design Principal at Kettle Collective, designed the Lakhta Centre tower and masterplan. It is a mixed-use commercial development housing the headquarters for oil and gas giant, Gazprom. The high rise consists of 86 floors and is due to be completed in 2018.
