Domodedovo Airport, Terminals 2 & 3
Domodedovo Airport is situated just outside Moscow and is the main Airport for the City with a high speed rail link connecting them.
Terminal 2 is a new International Airport and Terminal 3 Domestic, however, both had to be designed to handle the Airbus A380 and in total, the area is over 400,000m2.
The design was to move on from the closed Terminal 1 and open it up through peeling back the façade to expose a fully glazed front with views through the building at all levels.
The terminal 3 position on site is such that it is the building seen on approach to the Airport via road and thus becomes the new feature building for the Airport.
Domodedovo Airport was designed whilst Tony Kettle was at RMJM.
