To help Oman and especially Muscat to achieve high recognition for its shoreline, a seed project is being proposed to demonstrate the potential and value; investing in shoreline activities can bring to Oman’s Tourism image.

Muscat, being an truly urban experience in Oman naturalist jewels, relies on built elements such as the Opera House and Sultan Qaboos Mosque to draw tourism potential. However, Muscat is blessed with an incredible shoreline ranging from rocky headlands, mangrove wetlands to stunning runs of sandy beaches. It is an urban enclave that is caught between the beauty of its hinterland and coast; now that the urban coastal experiences must be enlivened to add to its other naturalistic qualities.

It’s time for Muscat to identify, create and develop a series of experiences along its urban coastline that not only support existing communities but help to establish new centres of tourism activity for its residents and visitors.
