Warefa Masterplan
Warefa Masterplan is a unique place inspired by the history of Riyadh. The site edge is defined and protected by a modern orthogonal grid similar to modern Riyadh, whilst the layout at the centre of the community is irregular and informal in nature similar to old Riyadh. At its heart is a compact wadi parkland where extensive tree planting provides a beautiful shaded heart to the development.

Connecting the old grain with the new is a treelined boulevard with a soft green edge creating a parkland setting for the old town grain.
The boulevard provides access to clusters of homes arranged around linear pocket parks which provide social centres for living streets and pedestrian routes towards the central wadi space. At the midpoint and corner points of the boulevards are living plazas which slow the traffic providing a pedestrian crossing point and a friendly setting for local mosques and neighbourhood retail. The layers of the masterplan from new to old grain create a rich pallet of lifestyle options.
