The tower has been designed to create a memorable landmark unique in the world. ‘Marina Falls’ captures the spirit and essential character of flowing, falling water within a simple façade. The dune like ripples offer private balcony spaces with spectacular views of the Marina and back to the city. The rippling façade is both a celebration of place for the Marina and an obvious low energy advertisement for the sustainable nature of the building.
The tower uses vertical and horizontal bri-soleil to provide effective solar shading for both low morning/evening sun and high mid day sun. Simple horizontal shading provide protection to high sun on to the south.
Vertical fins on the east west facades are cut to an undulating wave line bringing light and shadow to the building surface and taking on a 3 dimensional wave effect when caught in the sun.
