The Xodus Steelers, founded in 2003 by Kettle Collective Director Colin Bone and former Scotland Captain Andy Nicol will be back at the Dubai 7s – International Vets 10s tournament where they are looking to retain the trophy. The team made up of a selection of former Internationalists won the International Vets in 2012 with a last minute try by former All Black Caleb Ralph. The team is Managed by former Scotland full-back Rowen Shepherd, Coached by former Scotland Coach Frank Hadden and Captained by former Scotland Captain Jason White and includes former Springbok Thinus Delport, Argentinian Nacho Fernandez Lobbe, All Black pair Keith Lowen and Caleb Ralph and Scottish Internationalists Marcus Di Rollo, Robbie Russell, Craig Smith and Andy Craig.

“It was fantastic for our team, management and sponsors, Xodus Group, OKI and The Famous Grouse to win the trophy last year in what was a hard fought final with CNCF, but with the efforts put in by all it was definitely well deserved. We’re fully aware that the standard is getting better year on year and have again had to step up our squad this year. With the core returning from last year and some very talented players coming in to enhance our squad we feel that we are in a really good place. It is always such a great event, and with quality players across all the teams there are no easy games, but that said we are here looking to repeat last year.”

said Colin Bone, President of Xodus Steelers. The tournament is from the 28th to 30th November 2013 at the Dubai Exiles Rugby Club. You can follow their progress on twitter @steelersrugby
