Kettle Collective has won the Residential Project Award for The Piers at the 2015 Cityscape Global Awards for Emerging Markets, competing against a shortlist of Leandro V. Locsin Partners, SOMA Architects and RMJM. The award was presented to Anthony Tappe, Senior Architect at Kettle Collective, at the Cityscape Awards Ceremony held at the Conrad Dubai Hotel on the 8th of September 2015. Celebrating excellence in real estate development and architecture, the 2015 Cityscape Awards for Emerging Markets offer international architects and leading real estate developers a prestigious platform from which to communicate a shared vision for the future, from culturally integrated city skylines to sustainable urban communities. Design visionaries and forward-thinking leaders in the international development arena join forces to showcase the pioneering projects that are raising the global industry bar. As emerging market destinations cement their position as the economic powerhouses of the future.  The Piers is located at the peninsula of The Wave, Muscat, Oman, and occupies one of the most dramatic and prominent sites of the development. Maximising the potential of its location The Piers stretches out into the water in a V-shaped configuration. This form creates a private beach and impressive villas at the end of each pier that seemingly float in the ocean. Colour changing dichroic glass activates the façade and represents the connection between the sky and water. Substantial terracing brings the feel a of luxury villa lifestyle to apartment living as it open the views from each unit and achieves private outdoor living areas that allow each apartment to feel unique and exclusive.
