1. What brought you to Kettle Collective, and what were you doing before?
Before joining Kettle Collective, I worked as an architect and urban planner at Albert Speer + Partner (AS+P) in Germany, focusing on international projects across the MENA region. After relocating to London, I was keen to continue working on similar large-scale projects and expand my expertise. Kettle Collective was the perfect fit for this next chapter in my career.
2. What are some key milestones in your career so far?
I hold a Bachelor's in Architecture and a Master's in Urban Planning, and I also completed an exchange semester in Urban Design at Politecnico di Milano. Along my career path, I've contributed to significant projects, including the Madinah Project Masterplan and the Architectural Identity Guidelines (AIGs) for Saudi Arabia, both of which have been pivotal in shaping my professional journey.
3. What has been your most significant Kettle Collective project or team memory?
One of my most memorable experiences at Kettle Collective was working on my very first project – the Qiddiya masterplan in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which presented several complex design challenges. It was an incredible introduction to the team and how they approach problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking. The challenges pushed us to think creatively, and it was extremely gratifying to see our collective efforts come to life.
4. What projects are you currently working on, and what excites you about them?
I’m currently leading the masterplan for a luxury resort in Salalah, Oman. What excites me about this project is the opportunity to create a design that harmonises culture, heritage, and tourism, offering a truly inspiring challenge.
5. What do you enjoy most about your job and working in this industry?
I love the creative process in urban design and the power of design to positively impact people’s lives. Seeing a concept evolve into a tangible reality that enhances communities is incredibly fulfilling.
6. Do you have a favourite quote or a phrase you live by?
"Less is more." – Ludwig Mies van der Rohe"Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created by everybody." – Jane Jacobs
7. What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, hiking, and playing paddle. I also love travelling and exploring new cultures and cities.
