Tony Archibold at the Leaders in Architecture Summit 2019

At the recent Leaders in Architecture summit in Dubai, I discussed my experience visiting the Kogi people (an indigenous ethnic group that lives in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia), as part of my postgraduate thesis research. The talk discussed the differences between the Kogi people’s holistic way of building communities (which is localised, with design based on qualitative criteria), with conventional construction practice (which is typically globalised and the design based on narrow quantified, rather than qualified criteria).
